Thanks, Richard! Totally agree about listing links in books, especially in this genre. Pretty dangerous! SM101 was stuffed full of them, which was incredibly helpful. Helpful in January of 2011 though, ehh...

What you mentioned about this book being a great intro to the SM world and to Brogan himself - couldn't agree more. I actually heard Brogan say in person a couple weeks ago (at SXSW) that he compiled the book for the (huge, massive, enormous) audience that still doesn't read blogs. For that audience, it's great. For others, probably not worth a ton of their time.

Cheers!

Rich!! First, sincerest, hugest, biggest, baddest apologies for taking this long to respond to your question. What can I say, I guess I was enjoying the coconuts and palm trees and Coronas that the Ren Men mentioned a bit TOO much. :)

Social mediums discussed in the book where pretty run-of-the-mill - Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. Frankly, it focused more on the WHY and HOW of social media and networking online and branding and community, than the WHAT regarding the specific tools. It was tidbit after tidbit of the concepts behind what connecting with your customers and communities online truly entails, what it is, what it is not, companies and individuals that are doing it right, the importance of transparency and trust, etc, etc, etc.

I mentioned in the review that there were dozens and dozens of links and specific resources to check out that Brogan mentioned throughout the book. Most of those were articles, blog posts, and companies doing the "right" thing. It really reads like a textbook, so if you're curious about one topic over another run to the bookstore, sit down with it, take a look at the contents, soak up the chapters that pertain to you, and snap pics of the links mentioned in those sections.

Hope this helps a bit! Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by, Rich!

I'll definitely be getting this book.
I was linked to Annie's twitter through a friend who said she was inspiring, then checked out her blog, and then saw a link to THIS particular page. I checked it out, and bam. Saw the review, liked the title of the book, thought Annie was interesting -- so bam. I'm getting it. :)

Also planning on picking up the Trust book as well.
