Best episode yet! Awesome guys! Keep ‘em coming.
Awesome episode. You really showed the need to hire an excellent rental background investigator. Hopefully I can find a Canadian Jill!
Stellar episode as always. I’d love to hear more about how you go about hiring / discovering talent. This has been huge for our business and I would love to find out how The Ren Men do it.
How do you pick the needle out of the haystack of applicants?
Furthermore, I wonder if there there is any carry over to the online world. We found that having stellar/passionate/motivated individuals makes or breaks our team and with outsourcing (finding internet talent) it is hard to find people who actually care about their work.
Look forward to seeing the next episode, congrats on being legal. Our next round of beers is on me next time

Geeze….talk about giving the honest to goodness “nuts and bolts” info of your system….if it was anyone other than you guys posting this, it’d be called corporate espionage!
I’ve got yet another group of people to send your way…so keep the episodes coming!
Cheers

Great episode, Sunny sent me!
Hey Guys –
Congrats on being legal. Great episode. My only complaint is that the shows are too short and are not posted often enough. Have you thought about a daily show?
One thing I would like to see in the future is an explanation of how the Ren Auto Group is going to provide passive income. At the moment, the two of you seem fairly involved. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I don’t think that is your end goal. Do you have changes planned?
As always, thanks for pulling back the curtain and bringing us along for the ride.
A daily show would be epic, but probably an insane amount of production time required for that.
I think the Ren Men are totally capable of cranking out 2 a week though

Great Episode! Like Sunny, I really enjoy the Nuts and Bolts portions of your show.
A comment on the Crazy Willy commercials. If they are going to be aired on TV you need an address and phone number along with the website. Sadly there are still a lot of people who wont/can’t get on a computer to find you and come buy their car(s).
I did some research during my recent purchase of a new (to me) car and I think you might be aiming a bit low on your profit point. My research indicated that the average (across the country) profit on used cars was more like $1,500… maybe your area is lower…
Oh! and BOOB challenge… Unused Bike Trail… Great Weather… I see Bike race? Maybe Family Relay… Oh! Dueling slushy stands Each of you puts up a stand and see who can raise the biggest profit in… an hour.
I’m off to see if I can find some more people to send to you. Sunny’s reign needs a bigger challenge! (thanks for the in episode shout out… Sunny’s name really should have been first though
)
Mitch,
The RenMen may have a lower profit margin per unit requirements since they are basically already funding the facility through their other ventures. By lowering the overhead, they can pass the savings along to the consumer – It will be interesting to see if their model changes once they have enough cars that a more formal sales staff is required.
Cheers,
Matt

Grant and Alan,
Another great episode. Loved hearing about the hot auto auction action! Can you bring guests into that forum? If so, you could potentially bring a potential buyer with you if they are willing to pay a fee to the RenMen for representing their purchase interest – You’d basically allow them to hand-pick their car and then you’d resell it to them – Along the same lines, you could take orders such as “I’d like a 2000-2005 Corvette, 6-speed, coupe or convertible with less than 100,000 miles and am willing to pay you up to $14k for it”…You’d probably want a letter of intent on such an arrangement though.
Here’s another recommendation – A car coral on your website here. Within it you could list each of your autos for sale, mileage, price…That way we could keep up to date on your offering. You do after all have a following of drivers in this fan-base.
Nice hearing from Jill…Good skills. I had someone similar in Columbus and couldn’t have been a successful landlord without the service. Thanks for sharing.
Is Crazy Willy related to Slick Willy? If so, you may want to leverage that oval office connection.
BTW: I tried to refer to your site, but my Facebook following failed to follow. Maybe I’ll give it another try soon…I’m quickly running out of time and may have to sponsor my own airfare. Luckily, I have plenty of Freq. Flyer miles.
That’s it for now gents – Fill that lot!

Grant and Alan,
Thought I’d share a bit of vision into the value you’re adding. You offered this episode including the interview with Jill D. I watched the episode and soon after heard that a friend here in Colorado had received an application from a prospective tenant for a home he owns in a Detroit suburb. He wasn’t sure if he should rent it out due to the applicant’s credit, so I referred him to Jill who ended up giving him the green light.
To summarize, the content of your show is having a positive influence on people you’ve never met, some of whom have never even watched an episode. Talk about paying it forward – Keep the good Karma flowin’!
Matt
Grant and Alan,
Here’s another path to revenue for your business: Consignment. I sold a Ducati motorcycle out here in Denver at a lot that would manage the effort to sell your ride for a fee. I can’t remember what the exact fee was, but it was likely in the $300 range to sell my used wheels for around $8k. It only took a few weeks to offload the bike and I was pleased with the end-to-end process.
Later,
Matt
Awesome Crazy Willy commercials!
