10 Days and no new episode?!?! We know, we know…
Here are a couple of updates…
- We are heading to New York City on Tuesday to conduct an interview. This has taken a great deal of time to plan a vacation/work interview with two sets of families. We will be working on the final details right up until departure.
- Mini – Chalk Talk – we are interviewing Mr. Gary Vaynerchuk and would love to get some questions from the Ren-Menions, to ask Gary Vee.
- We need your help, because we have this guy, going to interview Gary Vee, please, please, help.
- We would like to send a huge congratulations to Sunny D for winning the ‘Most Comments’ contest. He will receive a free round-trip ticket for a Southwest flight.
- We finished 1st at Jim Dandy’s Ohio State Backyard Barbecue Contest on Sunday (video will follow). Yes, 1st. We don’t know how either…

Howdy Boys –
I know you guys are big fans of Tim Ferris. I am too. I’m also a big fan of Gary Vee. However, it dawned on me not too long ago that Tim and Gary are kind of preaching a different gospel. I wrote about it on my blog at http://loumindar.me/tim-ferriss-vs-gary-vaynerchuk/.
There are bits and pieces of both of their philosophies that speak to me. So I try to take the best from both and implement those ideas/philosophies in my life. Although I think 4-Hour Workweek has had a greater “big picture” impact on my life, I read/listen to Crush It! more often and get more practical “small picture” ideas from it.
When I started writing, I thought I had a question you could ask Gary, but I guess I don’t. So have a great trip to New York and post a new episode of The RenMen Show soon.
We think the same as well. We try to steal, err, benchmark from nearly everyone we meet, that we care about. Do what you love and you can’t consider it work. Go Cubs!

If you’re seeking questions for Gary V, you may want to consider the following:
- You host the video podcast “Wine Library TV” – If you knew that your time on earth was coming to an end and you could only have one more glass of wine, which bottle would you reach for?
- You signed a 10-book deal with HarperStudio with “Crush It” being the first submission. What can your fans anticipate in your upcoming releases?

1. Wine TV is great. Have you thoght of expanding your empire into the same format but with Beer? Scotch?
2. With the internet being local now, how do you leverage local to take you national/global?
3. 16.2+MM… Would you pay for the return of Revis Island?
Revis is a bad dude, we talked briefly about sports, with Gary Vee. We had a blast interviewing him, we still hate the Jets…
Are you guys happy with the vending performance? i.e. are those the results you expected? It will take ~2.5 years to pay off each machine at that rate
For Gary:
What specific role do you play in your two companies, WLTV and Vaynermedia? How active are you with each of them in the day to day?
Do you feel as though you are able to give both of these companies the attention they need or have you been spread too thin since starting Vaynermedia?
What is the biggest challenge you are facing with them now?
Where do you hope to be with those companies in 5 years?
What is your greatest success?
First of all, I know EXACTLY how you won the BBQ contest and I think it might have had something to do with the garnish.
Second, ask GV about what companies and/or technologies he’s excited about for the second half of 2010.
