First thought after hearing about the small, but dedicated group of Renmenions:

What about hosting a Ren Men Summit, right there in WIlmington? Maybe a 2 or 3 day event where there’s some solid teaching time with Alan and Grant, possibly a shadowing of how you run your business, and some great hangouts at local venues? (You may even be able to swing some serious hookups from those local venues if you can give them a solid # of dedicated people that would be there)

It would be a Ren Men-a-thon, Ren-conference, or whatever else you want to call it. Tickets could be sold for it, and maybe some of the income that is gained from such an event could help to kickstart the tour around the USA.

Just a thought… :)

Quick suggestion… I think you need some more fun during your trip!!! I checked out this site and I think it would be a blast. Go to http://www.muddy-buddy.competitor.com. These events will be throughout the nation so maybe if your in the area you guys can enter. Also I am in San Antonio Tx. Home of the Alamo!!! Come on down boys!!!

p.s. We are the RenMen Nation!!!

There is still something hilarious and really cool about dropping a comment on someone’s blog who doesn’t know me and getting a detailed video response. Thanks. Very cool guys.

If you guys remember the phone call and email exchange I had with you, I’m in Texas. Specifically city of Keller. Several areas of the larger DFW area are great for single family rentals particularly. Hope you guys come through the great state of Texas. It has little value for me to say this with out a specific proposal but if there is an opportunity to create an equally beneficial business partnership, you guys are the type guys I would work with.

p.s. Damn you outliers! :)

Great stuff guys! Ton of great ideas….i think this is “doable” and i can’t wait to see you pull it off. Paducah is about half way between Nashville and St Louis. Put us on the list we would love to have you here.
I have mentioned before we have a local entrepreneur support system; “Entre-Paducah”, which i think would be a good fit with the seminar/speaking engagement idea. I expect there are other communities with these types of organizations, that would be interested in speakers to help promote small business and entrepreneurial spirit . These types of organizations or the local Chamber of Commerce may be a place to look for paid speaking/seminar gigs.

There are several others here who i believe would be interested in the business specific/individual type of consulting.

Good luck with this, you have a ton of great ideas and opportunity here…i think it is just putting the right ones together to pay the way.

Chad,
Fantastic ideas, we’ll have to get a hold of you before we stop in TN, we could work something out, with the locals for consulting.

Love the aforementioned idea of TED style seminars along your path. They COULD include local Ren menions giving talks on their areas of expertise.

Another idea would be to have MCE give a seminar at each stop on how he creates each show. What software, techniques, equipment her uses.

Now, for travel ideas. Used RVs are priced below market right now. Find 2 used 30 ft units, one for each family (MCE can stay with whomever feeds him the best.) When the trip is over you can sell the RVs on your car lot for a profit. I suggest 2 vehicles because everybody needs some space now and then. If 2 families, with kids, are traveling together for a long period of time there WILL be tension at some point. Having 2 vehicles could save your friendship. I’m just sayin’.

Hey Boys –

Loved the format of this episode. The behind the scenes stuff is always the most valuable.

The summer RV trip is coming together. I’m looking forward to it. Should be fun.

I’m in Murfreesboro, TN which is about 30-40 miles from Nashville.

I would contact a meetup organizer in each city you visit and have them coordinate a meetup with their group.

http://www.meetup.com

For example, I’m a member of the following group

http://www.meetup.com/BusinessInGilbert/

which has 193 members. You can leverage the group organizer to promote and facilitate their meetup that month to be with you.

Groups range from business owners and real estate investors to political activists and stay at home moms.

Even if you don’t end up being able to pay for the trip it will most likely prove to be a good investment and will increase dramatically the visibility of your show.

Orlando, FL.

You can take families to Disney while you’re here.

Can’t wait to see this thing take off. I’m an entrepreneur in a different sense than you’re used to. I’m a defense contractor, run a website, wrote a poker book, etc. and I’d love to meet you if you make it to Orlando.

Some other ideas for you…

Find a way to post your location live so Renmenions can follow your progress. There may be a security issue there, but up to you – would be fun to watch.

For a BOOB challenge, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching – you can leave RenMen-oriented nuggets across the country and let us find them or you can go find already cached boxes out there.

Use the time to expand your knowledge within real estate. Setup appointments to visit apartment building, commercial real estate, restaurants for sale, land for sale, etc. that will push your real estate envelopes.

Shoot the video/write the blog from each person’s perspective including wives and children. For young ones, a speech to text translator could help and keep them off the video for privacy.

Run a race (10K, half marathon, marathon, whatever) when one is scheduled somewhere along your route.

The WSOP has a circuit that are still official events and many WPT events have preliminary events prior. You can probably find one on the east coast in June.

BTW, it doesn’t really matter what you do – I’ll be following along in my RSS reader. Good luck and be safe.

Question: Since your businesses are system-ized, how much will they be hurt by your absence? How much do you plan on ‘working’ on your businesses while on the road?

DSG,
Tell us more about your poker book. Is it an e-book?

Geocaching we’ve done before and had a blast…nuggets of the Ren Men throughout the country — awesome and scary at the same time, pure genius!

It is a book in print – “Pressure Poker” – can be found on Amazon. If you get to Orlando, I’ll give you a couple copies :)

Good luck and Godspeed

As my name suggests, Im in Omaha Ne.

I would come to KC if you are not able to make multiple midwest stops.

Thanks for all the great work guys. Your yelling convinced me to get off the bench. I moved out of my house and will be renting it out this month!!

Lots of great ideas suggested already. I would like to see a money making challenge in every city. I.E. Alan and Grant both post up on a corner and see who can sell more lemondae.
I once paid for a whole trip to vegas selling water on the strip so it can be done!

We are so excited our yelling helped, that just means we get to yell some more! Strip water?!? How passive is that? Can we get you to sell and we’ll take have the profits? Deal!

St. Louis, MO. If you do make a stop here, please accept this as my invitation to take you gentleman to a St. Louis Cardinals game.

As for ideas for the trip, get yourself in front as many people as you can. One great opportunity may be to contact all the real estate investing clubs (and other similar types of groups) across the US and offer yourself up as speaker at their monthly meeting(s). If they pay you a speaking fee, great. If you have a information product to sell, great. But even if you just offer free information (a la Pat Flynn, who always over delivers with great free content) you can still get your name out there, build your brand and grow the number of ren-menions. Priceless. Building your followers, brand and credibility will surely help you in all aspects going forward.

Just getting caught up with your show and your current projects. Is this tour still happening? Is your itinerary set? Published? I would love to meet you en-route. All the best in your projects and travels.
